Yoga 170 Safety Policies

Our policies prioritize the health and well being of our instructors, you (our students), and our community as a whole. Our goal is to make you feel as safe and as comfortable as possible! Here’s what you need to know prior to arriving to Yoga 170. These updates are as of 4/1/2022.

  • Class Registration: It is highly recommended that you pre-register online for your class. This helps us with planning and ensures that you have a spot when you arrive.

  • Mats / Equipment: We do have blocks, bolsters, straps, and blankets available for our students to use in class. We recommend that students bring their own yoga mat, but we do have a few available if you forget or need to borrow one.

  • Mask policy: Our policy is to follow the guidelines from the CDC and NYS, and as of 2/10/2022, we are following NYS guidelines where masks are optional.

  • Kindly wipe your mat space: Please help our instructors clean up the studio by wiping down your own individual mat location. Please use the disinfect wipes or sprays to ensure that your mat location is clean after use.

  • Clean air filtration: We have a COVID filtration system within our HVAC system (see details below), multiple air purifiers, fresh air flow, and very safe, clean space for everyone.

What you need to know about our HVAC system, air circulation, and cleaning procedures at Yoga 170:

We are meeting all NYS requirements and are vigilant about a safe and welcoming environment. If you have questions please feel free to contact us.

  • HVAC System: On Friday, August 21, 2021 our HVAC system was upgraded with an air filtration system of MERV-13, per NYS guidelines. During class, the HVAC system is turned on to promote air ventilation and filtration. Our filtration system is better than most stores, restaurants, and even office spaces.

  • Fresh air intake: We enjoy a cross breeze from the canal facing doors that promotes fresh air into the studio. When the weather is warm enough, we will leave the doors open during a studio class.

  • Fresh air intake in between classes: When the weather is not warm enough to leave the doors open during a studio class, we will open the doors and turn on the fans after class to ensure that studio has fresh air prior to the next studio class. We do this even in the middle of winter.

  • Air purifiers: We purchased Blueair Air Purifiers to help promote air circulation in each studio room. To learn more, please visit Blueair.com.

  • Multiple Fans: We now have multiple fans located throughout the studio to promote air circulation by drawing fresh air from the outside and by pushing the air into the HVAC system.

  • Cleaning Supplies: We use better & safer choices for our cleaning and disinfecting while also meeting NYS guidelines on cleaning supplies. We have a hearty supply of hand sanitizers, individual cleaning spray / cloths, and disinfectant wipes for all students to use.

We are sincerely committed to your health and safety! Please contact us with any questions.

Thank you!
